Golf Course - Revegetation

Please Note that we are undertaking  to "Revegetate" areas around the course.

The revegetation process involves firstly spraying of the selected areas and then woodchips are spread over the sprayed area.  Planting follows these 2 processes.  We are planting mainly native grasses but also where appropriate native trees and bushes are being planted.

GUR  -  The newer areas are being treated as GUR - but it is expected these areas will be back into play quickly.

Major Revegetation Areas:-

*  Between 4th & 5th

*  Around the course toilet beside 4th tee

*  Right hand side of 2nd Fairway

*  Left of 14th Fairway

Pine Needles  -  You will no doubt have noticed on the 18th hole a couple of areas that have been spread  with a cover of Pine Needles - this is for a trial period and if successfull we will next April/May move to collect our pine needle droppings and "pine needle" significant areas of rough (eg under the Pine Trees along the fence lines of 10 & 18).  You may be interested to note that this Pine needling of the rough is widely used on Pine Tree Golf Courses internationally with  obvious benefits of reduced mowing and that pine needles settle to become an acceptable "rough" surface which is very weed resistant.

14th Tee  -  Work has commenced on our new tee, which is expected to be in play for the November 30th Father & Son Tournament.  The hole will be lengthened and the Dog Leg Corner left of the fairway at 200 metres will be revegetated and mounded.

Of course a very significant mound will be built around the whole of the right hand side of the new tee to seperate it from the 13th Fairway.

Pathway between 1st & 15th Tee  -  work has commenced on this buggy pathway which will not be totally completed until November.
